AEM Pilot Home

Welcome to the AEM Pilot*, an interactive web-based tool that guides states and K-12 school districts to create more inclusive learning environments for students with disabilities. Building background knowledge about accessible educational materials (AEM), conducting self-assessments, and monitoring continuous progress are all facilitated by the AEM Pilot. If your state or district has work to do to improve the accessibility of the materials and technologies provided to learners with disabilities, take off with the AEM Pilot!

Together, we can do so much more.

Organizational change happens in schools when people across the system are invested in a shared vision. The AEM Pilot is designed for teams, or "crews," that represent the range of AEM-related services and supports in state leadership, schools and communities, including administration, instruction, technology, data management, and students and families. Let the AEM Pilot navigate a crew from your state or district through the Quality Indicators for the Provision of AEM in K-12.

How do I get started?

The first step onto the AEM Pilot is best taken with a well-prepared crew. Our Manual, accessed from the menu bar, helps you pull together the best combination of people for improving accessibility in a K-12 setting. You’ll also be given the steps to setting up an account, an overview of how the tool works, and tips for success.

We want to hear from you!
Would your state or district benefit from coaching and other support to use the AEM Pilot? Do you have any recommendations for improving the AEM Pilot?
Your feedback will help shape future development of the AEM Pilot and make it fly even higher!

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.
